Tajweed

Tajweed

The rules of correct recitation, taught one rule at a time and applied straight away.

Who it's for

Children who can already read the Mushaf, and anyone who reads but wants their recitation corrected properly.

How it's taught

  • One rule per lesson, explained simply and then practised in real verses
  • The teacher recites, your child repeats, and mistakes are corrected on the spot
  • Regular revision of earlier rules so nothing is forgotten
  • Recitation recorded or reviewed with you when helpful

What your child will learn

  • Pronounce each letter from its correct articulation point (makhraj)
  • Apply the noon and meem rules — idghaam, ikhfaa, iqlaab, izhaar
  • Measure madd (elongation) correctly and consistently
  • Apply qalqalah, ghunnah and the rules of stopping
  • Recite a page with correct Tajweed without being prompted

Questions about this course

Does my child need to finish Qaida first?

They should be able to read words from the Mushaf without spelling them out. If not, we start with Quran Reading and move into Tajweed naturally.

Will my child learn the Arabic terms?

Yes, but gently — the rule is always taught in practice first, and the name comes after.
